About the Department
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is one of the earliest departments, which was set up in 2015 within the Institute. The Department offers numerous courses at the undergraduate level to introduce students to academic research and themes relevant to the civil engineering industry. Most of the courses are structured with a problem-solving or design-based approach, catering to the key demands of the industry. Undergraduate research is encouraged by the Institute by providing B. Tech students with the opportunity to work on research projects with the interested faculty as a part of their curriculum. In addition to M.S. and Ph.D. programs, the Department offers an M. Tech program in specializations such as environmental and water resources engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and transportation and infrastructure engineering, along with the Dual Degree program in the aforementioned streams.
