Environmental Engineering Lab

The Environmental Engineering program at IIT Tirupati is created to provide world-class education and research facilities to students and faculty fraternity with a focus on solving environmental issues of national and international importance. The undergraduate and graduate-level courses are designed with active, practical components to acquire hands-on experience and equip students to understand better and solve real-life environmental issues. The program will provide a unique environment for the faculty and students community to excel through research and development relevant to various industrial and socially relevant environmental problems.
World-class laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities are essential in achieving the goals. The facilities, including the advanced analytical instrumentation laboratory, water and wastewater laboratories, air quality laboratory, and environmental microbiology laboratory, are developed following the national and international best laboratory practices and setting high-quality standards. These laboratories are equipped with the inductively coupled plasma-mass-spectrometer (ICP-MS), gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometer (GC-MS/MS); iron chromatography (IC), fluorescence spectrometer (FS); total organic carbon analyzer, (TOC analyzer), UV-Vis spectrophotometer, microscopes, refrigerated centrifuges, deep freezers, biosafety cabinets, photocatalytic reactors, microwave plasma reactors, autoclaves, high volume samplers, furnaces, etc. to support synthesis, processing, analysis and characterization of diverse samples of environmental significance.
